Written for Good Friday in 1724, the St. John Passion is Bach’s emotional and musically dramatic account of the last days of Jesus, according to the Gospel of John. In this intimate performance the nine solo singers will also act as the chorus.

This performance is part of the Passions Project, a collaboration with the Seattle Symphony, who will be performing the St Matthew Passion on February 21 and 22 at 8pm with Ludovic Morlot conducting. The two organizations will share the same vocal soloists.
