Handel's Il Trionfo del Tempo
A brilliant combination of virtuoso singing, orchestral brilliance and vivid sonic contrasts, The Triumph of Time, George Handel's 1707 debut as a dramatic composer, is a richly rewarding piece dramatizing the conflicts of a soul divided by lust for pleasure and longing for peace. Written for a concert in the palace of one of Rome's greatest arts patrons, Handel's work continues to resonate due to its universal themes. Four world-class soloists and a full baroque orchestra help bring this poetic work to life.
